BRIEF DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a chartered or degree qualified Instrumentation and Control Engineer with extensive offshore experience covering DCS, ESD and F&G Systems with a bias towards safety related applications. Must have full familiarity with IEC 61508/61511 and SIL rated system design.

The following attributes are most desirable:

Extensive experience of FEED covering conceptual design, preparation of specifications, system block diagrams, Cause & Effects, data sheets, cost estimates and bid packages. Site based only experience is not relevant.

Detailed knowledge of fire and gas detectors and their applications. Good knowledge of national/international codes of practice.

Full familiarity with ESD valve design requirements, HIPPS and implementation of SIL rated systems.

Experience of Emerson, Yokogawa, Honeywell and Hima safety systems.

Good familiarity with data networks and interfaces including Ethernet, OPC, foundation filedbus/profibus and wireless instruments.

Experience in filed instrumentation as well as safety systems would be a distinct advantage.

Ability to lead small control system design teams unsupervised.

Experience of dealing with major clients and contractors and familiarity with their requirements. Overseas experience would be most useful.

Good commercial and contractual knowledge. Ability to manage cost and schedules.
