Personal Skills:
o Position requires excellent troubleshooting skills, strong oral and written communication skills.
o Familiarity or direct knowledge of petroleum and mining operations is a plus.
o Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems including pneumatics and automated control systems would be ideal.
o Welding ability is a plus. Certification not required.
o Allen Bradley PLC programming is a plus
o Basic electrical wiring to Canadian local and regional CSA Standards.
o Knowledge of industry codes, product safety standards, etc.
o Technically competent. Able to establish credibility through application of knowledge and/or experience.
o Team player, highly developed human relation skills. Comfortable with customers and suppliers at all organizational levels.
o Organized; capable of supporting multiple concurrent projects.
o Comfortable with extensive travel (80%) based out of the Edmonton area.
o Ability to work in a small team working environment, rather than a large company orientation.
o Self motivated with a strong work ethnic. Proactive, self starter dedicated to completing the job with a “hands on” approach.
Position Responsibilities:
o The position will report to the Engineering Manager.
o Project responsibilities will include: equipment maintenance, equipment installation or modification, procurement assistance, construction oversight, and start-up assistance.
o Position will include troubleshooting of existing electrical control systems, PLC’s. Programming of PLC’s will be required, but larger projects will be outsourced.
o Candidate will be working with the PLC and hard-wired logic.
o Direct Interface with customers to evaluate specifications and requirements and propose appropriate solutions using equipment packages.
o Responsible for project from concept to completion, including concept design, packaging, testing and installation.
o Provide direction and supervision to design and fabrication staff.
o Interface with company marketing, manufacturing functions, and outside vendors.
o Troubleshoot product performance or operations problems as necessary.
o Extensive travel required visiting customers, suppliers, and professional trade meetings and exhibitions.
o Create a preventative maintenance schedule for critical equipment
o Report efficiencies and downtime of production equipment.
o Ensure proper materials specification on equipment.
o Communicate equipment specifications to vendors.
o Ensure that spares for existing customers are maintained.

Required Skills/Experience:
Location:Alberta and Saskatchewan provinces of Canada. 80% travel will be included as part of the job requirements. **Must be a Canadian Citizen.**
Education:High School Diploma with certification in Engineering /Technology, or Trade School training.
Experience:3-5 years of experience in maintenance in the petroleum or chemical industry, or equivalent environment preferably.
