Field Technical Manager
Location: Aberdeen, GB

Baker Hughes currently has an opening for a Field Technical Manager for North Africa. This position will report to the Area Technical Manager.

Responsibilities:

· Will mentor new technical personnel within North Africa.
· Responsible for ensuring technical training and transfer of technical knowledge/expertise to sales within North Africa.
· Focus on High Potential Business Opportunities.
· Project Management of priority projects.
· Ensure proper understanding of customer needs concerning new opportunities and provide planning and application of technology accordingly.
· Provide technical expertise in the development of these opportunities in N. Africa.
· Supports New Product Launches and New Service Introductions in N. Africa.
· Position entails collaboration with Area/Districts and HQ groups to develop and champion product design improvements and services; administer and audit key technical process.
· Handles special projects as assigned.
· Travel throughout Africa to ensure customer relationship.

Education, Experience Requirements and Qualifications:

· Educated to degree level or higher in Chemistry or similar subject.
· Sound proven industry experience preferred.
· International field experience, preferably within Africa.

Competencies:
· In depth understanding of hydrocarbon production technologies.
· Interpersonal skills – ability to communicate at all levels.
· Project management experience.
· Manage resources effectively.
· Highly organized with excellent communication skills.
· Creative problem solving skills required.
· Highly effective employee and customer communication skills essential
· Client interface is essential
· Ability to speak French or Italian would be beneficial.
