My client who is a major operator is looking for an experienced Pipelines professional to join a project team responsible for the management and delivery of a large Oil & Gas Development Project.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
This post sits within a project team responsible for the management and delivery of a large Oil & Gas Development Project situated West of Shetland in the UKCS.
Key responsibilities include Project planning analysis & validation, progress monitoring & early identification of issues in order that Project Management have the necessary information to base decisions regarding future strategy.

MAIN ACTIVITIES
• Primary Responsibility for the delivery of the Project Planning function for the Pipelines Installation and all Tie-ins package.
• Prepare, update & maintain the relevant Project schedules through contact with Company & Contractors Planning Representatives.
• Participate as required in the integration of schedules into the Overall Project schedule.
• Define & maintain the Work Breakdown Structure working closely with the Lead Planner and Cost Controllers.
• Participate as necessary in the preparation of the Project Planning Procedures & ensure adherence to the procedures throughout the duration of the Project.
• Participate in the analysis & evaluation of bids.
• Review & comment on Contractors schedules at Contract Award to ensure realistic milestones & key dates are established.
• Monitor, review & comment on Contractors Planning Procedures, scheduling, progress monitoring, schedule updates & reporting.
• Monitor Contractors scheduling & perform analysis to validate Contractors dates.
• Review Contractors progress measurement system & perform regular reviews of planned v actual progress.
• Update Company schedule for analysis & reporting.
• Prepare planning information for progress reports to highlight planned v actual progress, forecasted completion dates and any areas of concern.
• Analyse & perform 'what-if' simulations & propose corrective actions when Project milestones are threatened.
• Attend all necessary meetings (internal & external) related to planning activities. Ensure actions arising from meetings are followed-up through to close-out.
• Participate in Project Control reviews.
• Liaise with Cost Controllers to ensure consistency of information.
• Develop and maintain highly effective & productive relationships with both the Project team members & Contractor Representatives to ensure all parties are informed & involved in planning matters as appropriate.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
• ONC / HND / HNC / Degree in a technical subject and / or appropriate experience.
• 10 years experience in Oil & Gas industry including 5 years experience in large construction projects.
• In-depth knowledge & experience of Primavera Project Management.
• Experienced in use of planning tools and techniques.
High level of computer literacy.
The Pipelines Planner position will be based in Aberdeen with regular visits to site as required. This post will report to the Lead Planner based in Aberdeen but will also report functionally to the Pipelines Manager who is also based in Aberdeen.
