OrionGroup are currently recruiting for a Senior Instrument Engineer, on behalf of our Client. This is a contract position, based in Atyrau, Kazakhstan, on a residential basis. As Senior Instrument Engineer, you will be a key member of a multi-discipline technical team providing instrument technical expertise and engineering support, establishing a high level knowledge and technical quality. Other Senior Instrument Engineer responsibilities are: Providing instrumentation discipline support to the technical team on a daily basis. Contributing to the development and implementation of the Maintenance Plan, and recommending corrective actions, ensuring that maintenance, scheduled preventive repairs and routine tests on instrument are carried out timely and as per standards. Making arrangements for the development and maintenance of necessary documentation addressing the operation of instruments. Advising on instrumentation equipment standardization, availability, and certification as per regulations. Providing instrumentation discipline support for the Process Training Plant during all design phases, construction and operations. Maintaining/updating hardcopy and electronic files of project technical documentation. Developing and/or revising instrumentation discipline didactic supports as required. Assisting the Training Instructors Coordinator during technical assessment phases, tests preparation, technical content and filing, when required. Contributing to implementation and spreading of HSE culture and awareness. Qualifications & Experience: University degree in Instrument and/or Automation Engineering. Substantial instrument and/or automation engineering experience. Experience in training delivery is preferred. Competencies: Ability to: Respond rapidly and effectively to changing requirements at short notice. Multi-task. Communicate clearly and effectively; excellent communication and presentation skills. Be an effective team-builder and coach in a multi-cultural environment. Personal qualities of flexibility, integrity and confidentiality. Experience of foreign management styles and working with foreign companies. Computer literate. High level of technical knowledge and skills. Sound understanding of instrument drawings, specifications, codes and standards. Extensive knowledge of Oil & Gas Instrumentation, SMART instruments, Distributed Control Systems, PLC. Ability to produce concise, accurate reports and procedure reviews. Excellent English language skills. The salary for this position is £550 - £600 GBP per day.
