This independent operator has requested Petroleum People’s geosciences team to resource a significant geophysicist for their UK offices. While global exploration may be slowing down across many companies, this E&P operator is looking to invest in its worldwide exploration, as production is increasing in several of its assets, they are re-investing money. Your role as a geophysicist will include 2D, 3D seismic interpretation and mapping for regional basin analysis, prospect generation and maturation. You will play a significant role in supporting the senior management in license acquisition, as well as being heavily involved in the evaluation of the companies operated licenses. Responsibilities of the role also include geophysical evaluation for prospect interpretation, well location decisions and well programmes and proposing and providing technical follow-up on geophysical studies such as seismic acquisition and reprocessing programmes. If you have previous experience of working on African assets and sound knowledge of Kingdom software you will be well placed to succeed in this role. This role will ideally suit a geophysicist who has 5-10 years working experience currently with an established E&P operator or service company background.
