Our Client has a vacancy for an Allocation and Metering Engineer based in Aberdeen. This is a contract position of one year's duration, with the possibility of further extension. This is a contract or a staff position. Key Responsibilities and Tasks: Data Verification. Development and maintenance of spreadsheets/offline systems used in the data allocation/verification process. Production Reporting. Provide technical support to personnel providing production reporting, allocation and data monitoring service. Compile information to meet production operations data requests. Allocation/Metering Systems. Assist the Team Lead in resolution of anomalies in the allocation process (including but not limited to): Modification of existing allocation algorithms to ensure that effects of anomalous circumstance are minimised. Development of new allocation algorithms. Liaison with finance, commercial and legal personnel to ensure that corrective action taken is performed in an appropriate manner and is visible to interested third parties. Define changes required to allocation systems. User acceptance testing of changes made to allocation systems. Liaison with Metering Engineer to ensure that data hand-off from field instrumentation is sufficient for defined allocation/production reporting requirements. Define changes required to metering systems. User acceptance testing of changes made to metering systems. Attendance at allocation system user group meeting. Procedures/Business Process. Review existing/develop new procedures and work instructions to ensure that all allocation and production reporting processes are performed in a manner consistent with regulatory and/or commercial requirements. Work with allocation and operations personnel to modify existing practises to meet new regulatory and/or commercial requirements. Provide coaching to allocation, production reporting, operations and metering personnel to ensure that all are aware of their specific responsibilities under terms of agreements, documented procedures and work instructions. Any other tasks as assigned from time to time with the agreement of the line manager. Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Working knowledge of measurement systems and relevant measurement industry standards. Working knowledge of offshore production processes. Experience in interpreting commercial agreements and familiarity with regulatory production reporting requirements. Experience in development and interrogation of database systems (Primarily SQL) and development of spreadsheet based solutions (MS Excel,VBA) are essential. Well developed interpersonal, organisational and communication skills required, excellent numerical skills essential. Significant previous experience in a similar position. Previous supervisory experience desirable. Ability to work to tight deadlines and a keen eye for detail are essential. Must be able to work as part of a team but should also demonstrate ability to work on own initiative. Please note candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
