Our Client has a vacancy for a Petroleum Engineer based in Cairo, Egypt. This is a contract position. Responsibilities: Optimize production from existing wells in Western Desert Asset. Develop base production management plans to improve operating efficiency. Design and optimize artificial lift installations including gas lift, ESPs, hydraulic jet pumps, compression and sucker rods. Lead well by well reviews to identify production improvement opportunities for existing wells (active and shut in wells). Conduct assessments of individual well performance and well performance modelling. Evaluate, assess and recommend (develop a hopper) rig and rigless workover and well intervention opportunities. Generate workover procedures and planning activities to ensure efficient and safe operations. Ensure value driven execution (with possible direct supervision) of rigless and workover unit (jointed pipe) well interventions. Develop contracting and delivery strategy for workover unit. Provide petroleum engineering support for the development well program. Develop statements of requirements (SOR) for completion designs for new drilling wells including fracture stimulation and gravel pack designs. Work with Drilling to ensure that wells are in a ready to drill state prior to spud. Review completions procedures to ensure efficient and safe operations. Interface with the facilities team and field operations to ensure that flowlines and facilities are properly planned and in place in time for well start-up. Take a leadership role in building a culture that supports Health, Safety and the Environment. Mentor & Coach the less experienced petroleum engineering team members. Contributor to Client’s other activities (e.g. attending peer reviews). Generate well, area and field surveillance plans. Frequently visit the field operations in the Western Desert and provide direction for field PE activities. Additional areas: well integrity; production metering; daily production management; stimulations; new technology. Support updates to field depletion plans.
