Our Client has a vacancy for a Safety and Loss Prevention Engineer based in Monaco. This is a contract position. Responsibilities/Tasks: Analyze, determine and specify the Loss Prevention requirements and considerations applicable to the company’s products and proposals. Design efficient Loss Prevention systems that can be implemented safely and economically. Produce, organize and coordinate the production of Loss Prevention reports and specifications. Identify and write specifications for, the Loss Prevention aspects applicable to the company's products. Use the appropriate software for analyses, calculations and design aids. Make the conceptual design of the fire and gas detection, fire fighting (FF) and safety systems on a FPSO including specification of the major equipment. Perform detailed design of all loss prevention systems for FPSO and other projects including the preparation of equipment specifications, FF flow diagrams, FF P&ID's, input to the cause and effect diagrams, hazardous area zoning layouts, safety plans and calculations. Liaise with the instrument and electrical engineers on their requirements for the fire and gas detection, fire fighting, navaids and other safety systems. Monitor and review internal drawings, specifications and documentation related to Loss Prevention System designs and related matters. Perform Loss Prevention engineering in conformance with all applicable and relevant legislation, standards and codes. Answer queries arising from clients, contractors, site supervisors or internal company departments on the Loss prevention aspects of the company's products. Prepare formal responses to comments from clients and classification societies on drawings and specifications. To attend and contribute to internal company/departmental/project meetings where Loss Prevention systems and equipment are discussed. Requirements: University degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Previous experience in Oil and Gas engineering. Specific competencies (knowledge or know how) which are a key factor for the position: knowledge of latest UK, Norwegian and classification society requirements for the loss prevention systems is essential.
