A major operator who specialise in West Africa project is seeking an experience Senior Geologist for its office in Europe.Responsibilities Maintain consistent fit-for-purpose daily geological drilling data (data integrity, maintenance and accessibility) across Addax Petroleum (APS, Operating companies and third parties, as required). Maintain daily updates of well and mud log correlations, x-sections, maps and well trajectories. Advise, while drilling, on drilling departure from plans and propose corrective action, advise on casing, coring points, logging, perforations and TD. Build detailed (3D) static reservoir geological models as input to 3D dynamic simulation models. Prepare well proposals (expl., appr., dev. wells), recommend coring, logging, welltest programs. Contribute to detailed field development plans, reservoir and field reviews to identify appraisal, development and infill drilling and workover opportunities. Provide geological support to New Ventures, exploration and acreage evaluation, as required. Qualifications At least 10 years experience in clastics and/or carbonates reservoir geology (drilling operations, 3D static sedimentology and diagenetic modelling, and/or fractures and faults modelling), with involvement in exploration, appraisal and field development activities, preferably with an Operating oil company. Understanding of fluid properties and dynamics, risk and uncertainty analysis and volumetric estimates. Fully conversant in the use of G&G databases, geological interpretation PC-based software (e.g. Petrel Geographix). Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Operational experience in West Africa and/or Middle-East, preferably with an Operating oil company. Operational experience as a wellsite geologist, preferably with an Operating oil company. Basic skills in 3D seismic and petrophysical interpretation. Strong skills in the use of 3D geological modelling software (e.g. Petrel). BSc in Petroleum Geology, Sedimentology or Structural Geology, or in a relevant geological discipline.
