We are currently recruiting for experienced Plant Layout Engineers to work out of our Shinfield Park offices in Reading near to Junction 11 of the M4.
Requirements
Develop and prepare optimised plant layouts through the Conceptual, Study and FEED phases of projects using sound documented reasoning and innovative techniques. Provide quality plant layout input for Proposals, in support of business winning. Provide plant layout consultancy to support FEED, PMC and EPC detailed engineering projects. Typically, through 'cold eyes' reviews, technical audits and the attendance at key project reviews; such as value engineering and plot plan reviews. Have a “cost focus” approach in driving the layout development in a way that minimises installed plant operation costs, whilst ensuring that constructability, operational, safety and maintenance requirements are appropriately addressed. Present and discuss plant layout issues with clients, in a highly professional manner providing sound constructive advice. Produce well structured narrative and presentation material, relating too, and in support of plant layout concepts/options. Produce project specific plant layout standards. Develop and agree the project plant layout basis document. This would typically include relevant codes/standards and record decisions made with regard to critical layout issues and specific process, operating, maintenance and construction criteria/considerations. Responsible for the adherence to engineering procedures for design safety, adoption of safe attitudes towards engineering design, features affecting the safety and integrity of the plant. Responsible for the execution of assigned work, in accordance with applicable standards and procedures, and within the manhour budgets/schedule targets. Prepare plant models to a level of detail that allows review and extraction of various deliverables. These would include drawings in addition to other media such as; pictures, video and presentation graphics. Participate in formal and informal plot plan and layout definition reviews as necessary. Undertake technical audits, investigations and produce well structured technical reports. Support affiliate and site-based operations in plant layout issues. Present plant layout concepts to various audiences; including prospective clients. Ensure proper and adequate liaison with other groups; particularly with engineering disciplines, process and construction. Maintain a plant layout database. Undertake modularisation reviews and produce module study reports. Keep abreast of industry developments, new technology and techniques. Develop innovative plant layout techniques and work practices to ensure cost effective design. Assist in updating of the Plant Layout Group, procedures, standards and specifications. Assist in the development and training of personnel. Assist the Chief Plant Layout Engineer in departmental duties, as and when required.
