A major EPC Company requires a Civil/Structural Engineer (Offshore) as follows:Comply with applicable safety instructions and other Company procedures, both onshore and offshore. Ensure that in all matters safety, economical and technical assessments are made, due diligence is observed and initiative taken to secure the best economical results. Ensure that all information, both written and spoken, obtained in the course of the work is handled with confidentiality. Actively monitor work progress such that risks and problem areas are identified, reported and solutions identified. Bring forward suggestions for improvements in time and cost within the areas of responsibility. Review design drawings and other technical documents to ensure compliance with applicable contract requirements. Prepare timely response to technical queries from the contractor. Ensure that the platform steel structures comply with the contract requirements and with good industry practice. Participate in testing and inspection activities at site and at vendor/sub-contractor facilities. Monitor construction, erection and outfitting activities at the onshore fabrication site and during offshore installation, hook-up and commissioning. Ensure that structural work which requires completion offshore is recorded on interface schedules or punch lists. Maintain a written daily log. Attend project and other relevant meetings. Report progress and problem areas related to the execution of the work. Cover all hours worked by the EPIC contractor
